Scope
The ExxonMobil Fracture Technology Systems (EMFTS) Project Controls Engineer will collaborate with EMFTS leaders to develop and manage the overarching program schedule, individual project schedules, and budgets to ensure attainment of program objectives. The Project Controls Engineer will be part of the project delivery team. The anticipated duration of the role is approximately 18 months, concluding at the end of Q1 2028.
The Project Controls Engineer will work with the EMFTS Leadership Team to build an integrated schedule that identifies critical dependencies and Strategic Leadership Milestones (SLMs). The individual will also work with Project Managers to develop project-specific schedules and budgets, support on-time and within-budget project delivery, and highlight key delivery risks.
The purpose of this role is to create schedule and budget transparency that allows the EMFTS Leadership Team to:
  • Manage complex schedules through a Strategic Leadership Milestone lens.
  • Effectively manage critical delivery risks.
  • Identify areas of focus to support effective resource allocation.
  • Communicate delivery risks to the business.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the integrated EMFTS program schedule.
  • Develop and manage detailed schedules and budgets for individual projects.
  • Identify critical interdependencies, milestones, and delivery risks.
  • Support detailed stewardship and trending of project cost and schedule performance.
  • Monitor progress measurement and ensure accurate tracking against project objectives.
  • Assist with change-management processes to maintain alignment.
  • Conduct cost and schedule analysis, including reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and change-management activities.
  • Track and forecast purchase orders and subcontracts as part of cost tracking and analysis.
  • Prepare monthly reporting deliverables covering cost, schedule, progress highlights, risks, and expenditure profiles.
  • Engage with project teams and functional groups to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for capital efficiency and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Travel as required to coordinate with appropriate project teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, data science, manufacturing systems, industrial technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience developing and managing complex project schedules with critical interdependencies.
  • Experience identifying critical milestones and creating effective reporting that highlights delivery risks.
  • Experience with cost engineering, planning, and scheduling.
  • Experience with project cost tracking, forecasting, budgeting, progress measurement, and change management.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with leadership, Project Managers, project teams, and functional groups.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
