Compensation
  • $93/hr
  • Per Diem: $125/day
  • Vehicle: Allowance considered (personal vehicle preferred)

Scope / Overview
The Project Controls Lead I (PCL) provides leadership and oversight of all project controls functions, including cost control, scheduling, progress measurement, estimating, and management of change. This role ensures accurate forecasting, reporting, and alignment with project objectives while driving capital efficiency and performance.

Key Responsibilities
Project Controls Leadership
  • Lead cost control, scheduling, progress measurement, and change management activities
  • Develop and implement Project Controls and Management of Change (MOC) Plans
  • Establish and manage cost and schedule stewardship processes
Cost & Schedule Management
  • Develop and maintain:
    • Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS)
    • Original & Current Control Budgets (OCB/CCB)
    • Project Master Schedule and forecasts
  • Perform cost/schedule analysis, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Identify risks, trends, and corrective actions
Reporting & Stakeholder Support
  • Provide accurate reporting to Project Team and leadership
  • Support benchmarking, tool development, and ad hoc analysis
  • Interface with Controllers on budgets, AFEs, invoices, and WIP
Contractor & Project Oversight
  • Review contractor cost/schedule baselines, forecasts, and progress
  • Ensure contractor compliance with project control processes
  • Evaluate and support change orders and recovery plans
  • Participate in bid evaluations and contract budget development
Governance & Reviews
  • Lead Gate Reviews, funding approvals, and estimate development
  • Facilitate Capital Efficiency and Opportunities & Vulnerabilities processes
  • Support close-out reporting and final project documentation
Team Leadership
  • Lead and mentor project controls staff (engineers, planners)
  • Coordinate across project and functional teams
  • Ensure alignment with company project management standards

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Engineering
    • Engineering Technology
    • Construction Management
  • Proven experience in project controls (cost & schedule focus)
  • Supervisory/leadership experience required
  • Strong knowledge of project management systems and processes
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint
