Scope / Overview
The Facilities Engineer / Specialist II or III provides engineering support for plant operations, pressure equipment integrity, and facility modifications across assigned operating areas. This role serves as an Area Engineer, partnering closely with Operations, Site Contacts, and Lead Engineers to support safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance.
The successful candidate will provide technical support for changes, repairs, and alterations involving plant pressure equipment, including piping systems, static equipment, rotating equipment, and storage tanks. The role also supports facility shutdown activities, risk management initiatives, and ongoing surveillance programs designed to improve reliability and operational performance.
This position requires strong knowledge of engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and asset integrity principles within the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Support
  • Serve as the Area Engineer for a designated plant operating area
  • Collaborate with Facilities Engineers, Site Contacts, and Lead Engineers to support daily operations and maintenance activities
  • Provide engineering support for changes, repairs, and alterations to plant pressure equipment
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of equipment reliability issues
  • Coordinate engineering activities during planned shutdowns and turnarounds
Asset Integrity & Risk Management
  • Support the integrity management of piping, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, and associated systems
  • Participate in risk assessments and management of change (MOC) processes
  • Conduct monthly facilities surveillance activities and monitor key performance indicators
  • Ensure compliance with applicable company standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements
  • Review and evaluate engineering deliverables prepared by internal teams, contractors, and subcontractors
Communication & Collaboration
  • Facilitate effective communication among Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and contractor teams
  • Provide timely updates on engineering activities, project progress, and technical issues
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of oil and gas industry experience
  • Experience supporting plant operations, maintenance, and asset integrity programs
  • Knowledge of pressure equipment systems, including piping, static equipment, rotating equipment, and storage tanks
  • Experience with risk management methodologies and management of change processes
  • Strong understanding of applicable engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting refinery, midstream, gas processing, petrochemical, or other process facilities
  • Previous experience serving as an Area Engineer or Operations Support Engineer
  • Experience supporting facility shutdowns, turnarounds, and outage planning
  • Familiarity with RBI, mechanical integrity, PSM, and asset integrity programs
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams and contractors
Interview Process
  1. Initial 30-minute Zoom interview
  2. Second-round 60-minute in-person interview at the Ardmore, OK site
Assignment Details
  • Initial assignment duration: 6 months
  • Strong possibility of extension based on business needs and performance
