Overview
The Lease Operator II is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of oil, gas, and water production facilities. This is a hands-on field operations role supporting both existing production and new facility startups. Operators will work independently, monitor production through SCADA and field inspections, troubleshoot alarms and equipment issues, and ensure facilities operate safely and efficiently while maintaining production targets.

The Lease Operator II is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of oil, gas, and water production facilities. This is a hands-on field operations role supporting both existing production and new facility startups. Operators will work independently, monitor production through SCADA and field inspections, troubleshoot alarms and equipment issues, and ensure facilities operate safely and efficiently while maintaining production targets.
- Safely operate and monitor oil, gas, and water production facilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production equipment and process alarms.
- Perform routine lease rounds and inspect equipment for proper operation.
- Monitor production using SCADA and field instrumentation.
- Read meters, gauge tanks, collect samples, and record production data.
- Monitor pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, differential pressure, and chemical injection rates.
- Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling.
- Issue Safe Work Permits and perform gas testing.
- Perform minor maintenance including lubrication, filter changes, valve packing adjustments, and equipment servicing.
- Maintain company vehicle and field documentation.
- Communicate operating conditions with Production Foremen.
- Support startup activities for new production facilities.
- Participate in environmental compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work independently while responding appropriately to operational issues and call-outs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous oil & gas production operations experience.
- Experience operating and maintaining surface production equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot production equipment independently.
- Experience with SCADA or electronic monitoring systems.
- Computer proficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs., climb ladders, and wear SCBA.
- Must be willing to work rotating schedules and respond to call-outs.
