The Development Analyst is a member of the Development team and reports to the Development Analyst Supervisor. This role supports both Engineering and Geoscience disciplines and is responsible for optimizing field development strategies, identifying high-return drilling opportunities, and helping secure management approval for development plans that meet economic targets and corporate objectives.

Scope
The Development Analyst is a member of the Development team and reports to the Development Analyst Supervisor. This role supports both Engineering and Geoscience disciplines and is responsible for optimizing field development strategies, identifying high-return drilling opportunities, and helping secure management approval for development plans that meet economic targets and corporate objectives.
Main Functions
- Conduct complex analysis supporting development planning, well performance evaluation, and budgeting activities.
- Optimize field development strategies and inventory planning.
- Support development roadmap evaluations and long-term planning efforts.
- Maintain alignment between development plans and corporate inventory systems.
- Perform economic evaluations and scenario analysis to support business decisions.
- Manage development-related project changes and documentation.
- Analyze development opportunities and well performance data.
- Utilize databases and analytical tools to organize, manage, and interpret technical data.
- Collaborate with Development Managers, Geologists, and Engineers to develop field strategies.
- Conduct Roadmap evaluations for development projects.
- Maintain development inventories used for:
- Well approvals
- Budgeting
- Scheduling
- Land trade evaluations
- Facilities planning
- Permitting
- Reserves management
- NAV calculations
- Create documentation necessary to execute approved development plans.
- Manage Project Change Management requests.
- Maintain spatial data and inventory information within EM systems.
- Perform ad hoc analysis, inventory evaluations, and economic studies.
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Computer Science
- Geology
- Economics
- Mathematics
- Engineering
- Related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience creating business intelligence visualizations and analytical reporting.
- Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Advanced proficiency with:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Access
- SQL
- Oracle Databases
- Spotfire
- GIS platform experience preferred.
- Experience with data governance and data integrity best practices.
- Familiarity with Alteryx and other analytical/data management tools.
