Seeking a Field Operator III to support Water Operations at Vantage with a strong focus on SCADA-based monitoring and remote system control. This role will oversee water treatment, Salt Water Disposal (SWD), and distribution systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will be highly computer-savvy with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to troubleshoot operational issues both remotely and in coordination with field teams.
Tasks / Responsibilities
System Monitoring
- Monitor water treatment facilities, SWDs, and distribution networks via SCADA
- Track flow rates, pressure levels, tank/reservoir volumes, and system performance
- Adjust pumps, valves, and inlet systems remotely to maintain optimal performance
- Respond to system alarms and initiate corrective actions in real time
- Communicate with field operators for maintenance, repairs, and emergency response
- Dispatch I&E Technicians, electrical crews, and field personnel when on-site support is required
- Record operational data, incidents, and maintenance activities in logs and reports
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational and performance reports
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards related to water handling and disposal
- Follow emergency protocols during system failures, upsets, or contamination events
- Participate in training, system upgrades, and operational enhancements
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of water treatment processes and water distribution systems
- Familiarity with SCADA systems for monitoring and control
- Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of pumps, valves, and instrumentation
- Proficiency in SCADA systems and data logging tools
- Ability to interpret alarms and troubleshoot systems remotely
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation
- Ability to analyze operational data and identify trends or anomalies
- Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure or emergency situations
- Clear verbal and written communication for coordination with field teams
- Ability to document incidents, actions, and operational changes accurately
- Computer-savvy candidates strongly preferred
