Scope
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance preparation of wells, processing units, and associated facilities. This role supports large project operations including new facility startup, utilization of operating procedures, work permitting, and ongoing production optimization. Strong focus on oil, gas, and water separation systems along with utilities and overall field operations.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Responsible for personal and team safety while following all company safety policies and procedures
Serve as primary operations contact for assigned facilities
Understand process flow, chemistry, line-ups, and safety systems including isolation points
Monitor and optimize processes using computer systems and schematics
Perform field inspections using sight, sound, smell, and touch to ensure proper operation
Issue Safe Work Permits and assess operational and safety risks
Perform gas testing to ensure safe work environments
Monitor production through tank gauging, meter readings, sampling, and data recording
Track pressures, temperatures, flow rates, chemical injection rates, and equipment conditions
Identify issues such as leaks, freezing, or overheating and respond accordingly
Adjust process parameters to maintain optimal production performance
Maintain accurate gauge sheets and production records
Coordinate oil sales and saltwater hauling activities
Check valve alignments and ensure proper system configurations
Perform basic maintenance such as lubrication, filter changes, tightening packing, and equipment clearing
Communicate with Production Foreman regarding operational status and changes
Perform seasonal equipment preparation (winterization/summerization)
Utilize handheld and computer-based monitoring equipment
Inspect safety equipment including valves, extinguishers, and breathing apparatus
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Follow environmental policies and minimize emissions, spills, and impacts
Maintain reliable attendance and work independently when needed

Skills and Qualifications
High School diploma required; trade school or college preferred
Prior oil & gas operations or related field experience required
Experience with production equipment and surface facilities
Ability to work rotating schedules and respond to call-outs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic computer proficiency
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and climb ladders/stairs
Ability to use SCBA and safety equipment
Comfort working in multi-cultural environments
