Commissioning Specialist (Compressor) I, II & III
Location: Midland, TX – Hwy 80Schedule: 8/6 rotation, 10-hour days (Thursday start) – OT as needed
Pay Rates
- Level I: $50–55/hr
- Level II: $80/hr
- Level III: $100/hr
Position Overview
The Commissioning Specialist supports commissioning and decommissioning activities for conventional and high-pressure gas compression equipment. This role works closely with operations, maintenance, and construction teams to safely place new or modified compressor facilities into service and ensure readiness for sustained operations.Key Responsibilities
- Commission and decommission conventional and high-pressure compressors
- Coordinate pressure testing and startup of new compressor units
- Inspect new builds and expansions during construction phases
- Perform final inspections and support Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR)
- Learn and support daily compressor and facility operations
- Maintain strong housekeeping and operational discipline
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical and automation issues under supervision
- Maintain accurate operational and JBPE documentation
- Support on-call duties and travel to field locations using company vehicle
- Interface daily with Foremen, Compressor Operators, Mechanics, Lease Operators, and contractors
- Support special projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Mechanical or oilfield experience required (2.5+ years preferred)
- Prior compressor or gas lift operations experience preferred
- Knowledge of:
- Fuel gas skids and compressor engines
- Medium voltage transformers, VFDs, and motors
- Automation and control systems related to gas compression
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record

- Tools: Toolboxes, ratpack, temp gun, socket set, and hand tools provided
