The successful candidate will possess deep technical expertise in compression and oil & gas operations, combined with experience developing curriculum, competency roadmaps, instructional materials, and learning systems. This position plays a key role in workforce development by ensuring employees have the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate and maintain critical production and compression equipment while supporting organizational learning initiatives on both a site and enterprise level.

  • Work directly with Training Supervisors to establish site training plans that comply with Operations Training System requirements and corporate best practices.
  • Support governance organizations including PLC, MLC, TLC, SSHELC, and other operational leadership groups.
  • Develop classroom instruction, instructor-led training, practical field exercises, presentations, assessments, and technical documentation.
  • Deliver classroom and field-based technical instruction to operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements to maximize workforce competency.
  • Assist with Instructional System Design (ISD) to ensure learning content supports operational excellence and adult learning principles.
  • Support Learning Management Systems (LMS) including database functionality, reporting, competency tracking, metrics, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Customize reports and analyze training metrics to support compliance and workforce development initiatives.
  • Maintain competency records and monitor compliance with required technical training programs.
  • Promote SSHE (Safety, Security, Health, and Environment) principles throughout all training activities.
  • Support vendor management and external training resources when applicable.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to identify competency gaps and implement development strategies.
  • Influence cross-functional teams and operational organizations without direct supervisory authority.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, standards, and directives.

Required Qualifications
  • Extensive experience delivering technical training within the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of compression systems, production operations, or midstream facilities.

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present technical material to large audiences.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and technical disciplines.
  • Ability to influence leaders, peers, and operations personnel without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success implementing competency management systems and structured technical training programs.
  • The confidence and credibility to influence technical organizations, improve compliance, and drive operational excellence without formal supervisory authority.
