Position Overview
The Optimization Engineer III serves as a key technical resource for production system optimization, facility utilization, and gas offtake management across the upstream value chain. This role focuses on driving efficient, safe, and sustainable production performance through analytical modeling, system debottlenecking, and coordination with subsurface, facilities, and operations teams.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical acumen in production systems, a deep understanding of surface network modeling, and proven experience developing and executing optimization strategies within oil and gas operations.
 

Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive daily optimization support for all production and injection systems
• Maximize utilization of facilities and production networks to achieve SPU production targets
• Perform system modeling, analysis, and validation to identify operational inefficiencies
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Planning to minimize production impacts during planned or emergent maintenance activities
• Identify and support implementation of safe, cost-effective debottlenecking initiatives
• Evaluate and communicate HSE impacts of optimization activities to stakeholders
• Assess reservoir and surface system performance to reduce downtime, injection inefficiencies, and deferred production
• Contribute to long-term system planning and technology commercialization efforts
• Support data-driven decision-making through predictive modeling and operational analytics

 

Skills and Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or related discipline required)

Experience:
• Previous experience in a closely related engineering optimization or production role
• Strong working knowledge of upstream production systems, flow assurance, and gas handling
• Proven experience in system modeling, model validation, scheduling, or logistics optimization

Technical Skills:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong understanding of engineering design standards, specifications, and safety criteria
• Capable of interpreting and developing optimization models for surface systems and injection networks
• Familiar with production surveillance tools, maintenance planning systems, and impact assessment workflows
