Scope
MAIN FUNCTIONS
As a Midstream Operator III, this role takes a leadership position in compressor station operations under limited supervision. Responsible for optimizing equipment performance, ensuring system reliability, and supporting safe and compliant operations across midstream facilities. This position includes advanced troubleshooting, operational oversight, and mentoring of junior personnel while driving uptime and operational efficiency.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead compressor station operations and maintenance activities with minimal supervision
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot compressors, pumps, and auxiliary systems
• Utilize SCADA data and field observations to optimize runtime and performance
• Apply predictive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and improve reliability
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure accuracy of GIS mapping data
• Maintain compliance with DOT, regulatory, and company safety standards
• Perform real-time system surveillance and document operational activities
• Coordinate corrective maintenance tasks and oversee vendor performance
• Support equipment upgrades in collaboration with engineering and chemical teams
• Serve as field contact during operational upsets and emergency situations
• Train and mentor junior operators; support peer-to-peer knowledge sharing
• Promote strong safety culture including SAFE program participation and stop-work authority
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or GED required
• 5+ years of midstream or compressor station operations experience
• Strong experience with compressor systems, engines, and auxiliary equipment
• Working knowledge of SCADA systems and data analysis
• Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Understanding of DOT and regulatory compliance requirements
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in Permian Basin midstream operations
• Strong background in instrumentation and controls
• Experience with predictive maintenance tools and techniques
• Leadership or supervisory experience in field operations
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
• Night shift role supporting operations across NM and West TX
• Personal vehicle required – $50/day allowance provided (no fleet vehicle)
• Must provide own 4-gas monitor
• Rig Pass and SafeLand certifications required
• Must be able to work in outdoor environments and varying conditions
• On-call and emergency response responsibilities as needed
