The Instrumentation & Controls Coordinator provides I&C subject-matter expertise and technical support to operations and maintenance teams. The role requires strong knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, DCS, and PLC equipment, along with a solid understanding of safety, health, and environmental requirements.
The coordinator will support complex troubleshooting, maintenance planning, design reviews, routine maintenance, turnarounds, and new projects. This individual must work effectively across operations, maintenance, and engineering groups and be able to influence others without direct authority.

Key Responsibilities
- Implement I&C maintenance philosophies and project specifications.
- Provide technical guidance for complex instrumentation and controls troubleshooting.
- Support risk assessments, incident investigations, and conceptual and pre-FEED studies.
- Participate in constructability and maintenance design reviews.
- Support routine maintenance, turnarounds, and new projects.
- Assist operating teams during peak workloads and complex operational issues.
- Support cost-management and productivity-improvement initiatives.
- Contribute technical input to training development and delivery.
- Share best practices and recommend process and technical improvements.
- Develop strong technical expertise and share knowledge across the organization.
- Previous experience in a closely related instrumentation, controls, or automation position.
- Strong experience with instrumentation, control systems, analyzers, DCS, and/or PLC systems.
- Strong maintenance and complex troubleshooting capabilities.
- Knowledge of SSHE requirements within operations and maintenance environments.
- Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and I&C maintenance management.
- Appropriate technical certification or equivalent professional experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to clearly describe field conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Demonstrated adaptability, analytical ability, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals over whom the position has no direct authority.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changing priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Agency-supplied ¾-ton truck.
- Agency-supplied toolbox measuring approximately 40 inches long by 16 inches wide.
- ExxonMobil will provide the required tools and four-gas monitor.
