Schedule: 6 days on / 1 day off (60 hours/week)



Overview
We are seeking two highly experienced Inspection Advisor II professionals to support quality and inspection functions in Carlsbad, New Mexico. This position is critical to ensuring compliance with industry codes, client specifications, and safety standards during procurement, fabrication, and construction phases.
The successful candidate will bring deep technical knowledge in inspection disciplines—such as fixed/rotating equipment, electrical/instrumentation systems, or advanced NDE—and be capable of leading QA/QC efforts on behalf of the operator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion Process Safety and Mechanical Integrity by embedding quality into every inspection phase.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in inspection disciplines relevant to upstream/midstream oil & gas assets:
    • Fixed equipment (vessels, tanks, piping systems)
    • Rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines)
    • Electrical & Instrumentation systems
    • Non-Destructive Examination (NDE Level III preferred)
  • Review and approve contractors’ Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Control procedures, and final inspection packages.
  • Coordinate and oversee fabrication shop surveillance, including FATs, hydrostatic testing, PWHT, welding inspections, and final release activities.
  • Interface with EPC contractors, vendors, and 3rd-party inspection agencies to ensure alignment with the operator, API, ASME, and project-specific requirements.
  • Conduct audits of supplier QA systems and verify effective implementation of corrective actions and non-conformance management.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests, punch list resolution, and closeout of Quality Turnover Packages.

Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred
  •  7+ years of quality assurance and inspection experience in upstream or midstream oil & gas projects
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable codes and standards:
    • API 650, 653, 570, 510
    • ASME Section VIII, IX, B31.3
    • IEC, IEEE, NACE, AWS D1.1
  • Certifications preferred:
    • AWS CWI, API 510/570/653, NACE Level I/II, ASNT NDE Level II/III (UT, RT, MT, PT)
  • Familiarity with QA/QC requirements for sour service, pressure vessels, electrical area classifications, and instrumentation calibration
  • Able to travel to fabrication yards, construction sites, or vendor facilities as required
