Scope
The Instrument and Electrical Technician I installs and maintains instrumentation and electrical equipment in compliance with company rules, safety procedures, and operational practices. This position supports field electrical maintenance activities and performs electrical isolation procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), for lighting, HVAC systems, motors, and other electrical equipment.
The role works closely with operations, engineering, and project teams to ensure electrical and instrumentation systems operate safely and efficiently within oil and gas facilities.

Responsibilities
• Plan, update, and oversee work activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and safety procedures with strong emphasis on health, safety, and environmental protection
• Support collaboration between operations, engineering, and project teams
• Review and provide input on electrical and control specifications and work practices
• Maintain accountability for electrical and control systems as defined in the Work Management Manual
• Apply and follow work permits through the Permit To Work System (PTWS)
• Ensure timely and high-quality completion of work scheduled through the maintenance program
• Continue development of personal and team technical skills related to equipment, regulations, and maintenance methods
• Participate in and facilitate technical meetings to keep technicians informed on procedures, specifications, and technology updates
• Maintain open communication regarding electrical and control system issues including safety practices and training
• Support work prioritization to maximize operational effectiveness and coordination between work groups
• Provide technical troubleshooting and maintenance support to other technicians working on instrumentation and electrical systems
• Generate Management of Change (MOC) requests for electrical or control equipment modifications and support installation inspections aligned with Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) Element 3
• Inspect and monitor new installations to ensure consistency with operational standards and recommend improvements when necessary
• Serve as backup for the Instrument and Electrical Lead when required

Skills & Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required, technical training preferred
• Experience maintaining electrical systems and instrumentation within processing plants or offshore production facilities

General Technical Knowledge
• Familiarity with regulations governing oil and gas facility operations
• Knowledge of OIMS systems, manuals, and procedures

Specific Technical Skills
• Meets safety, administrative, and technical training requirements outlined in the company operations training roadmap
• Demonstrates required Operations Integrity Critical competencies
• Basic computing and documentation skills
