Position Summary
The Willow WTI Facility Engineer will be part of the Willow Engineering & Systems Integration Team, supporting the DS Project Integration & Interface Lead. This role focuses on surface engineering and planning support for development drilling, hydraulic fracturing, flowback, and well tie-in activities to both temporary and permanent facilities while supporting simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) planning and optimization.
The position is primarily based in Anchorage, Alaska, with periodic travel to the North Slope and other locations to support Willow WTI planning, pre-drill activities, and field execution beginning in Q1 2027.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support development of the initial and subsequent 90-day field execution plans for Willow development drilling.
  • Evaluate the technical and financial aspects of temporary and permanent surface facility scope supporting drilling and completions.
  • Support well tie-ins and temporary infrastructure including:
    • Frac equipment
    • Flowback equipment
    • Temporary power
    • Pre-drill well data collection systems
  • Support the design and build-out of the Willow WTI well delivery organization.
  • Interface regularly with Alaska Business Unit teams to ensure long-term drilling and well delivery success.
  • Identify execution risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Capture lessons learned and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across engineering, drilling, completions, facilities, and operations teams to successfully execute the 2027 drilling, frac, and flowback programs.
Basic Requirements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of North Slope facilities experience.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Drillsite operations
    • Hydraulic fracturing
    • Flowback operations
    • Well operations
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the North Slope and other domestic locations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of North Slope experience supporting drilling through production.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Surface facilities
    • Temporary infrastructure
    • Well tie-ins
    • Drilling support systems
  • Experience supporting:
    • Development drilling
    • Hydraulic fracturing
    • Flowback operations
    • SIMOPS environments
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience developing practical, operable, and maintainable surface facility solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Ideal Candidate Comments:
The strongest candidates will combine North Slope facilities engineering experience with hands-on exposure to development drilling, frac support, flowback operations, temporary facilities, well tie-ins, and SIMOPS planning. Candidates should be comfortable coordinating between drilling, completions, facilities, and operations teams while supporting execution planning and solving field integration challenges. Previous Willow, Alpine, Kuparuk, GMT, or other Alaska North Slope project experience would be highly desirable.
